the one I have looks like this https://www.amazon.com/Grommet-Tool-Brass-Plated-Grommets/dp/B003BKPPOW you hit it with a hammer to crimp the grommets together, it's not the best, if it's not lined up right it doesn't look pretty, but it works and was cheap, lol.

[Lone Star Chinchilla]

I have decided to go stick with my breeder. He messaged today and said they have a standard gray male available! I'll attach a pic. He is 3 weeks old and I pick him up on April 18. (Or the 27) he said that he is around 10-12 oz already! I am so relieved as I was seriously considering going with a pet store! I really prefer my breeder but just was afraid something would happen. I am ordering the cage at the end of the month and getting all the supplies in about 3 weeks. Super excited!!!

There must have been some misunderstanding as at 3 weeks old the baby would not have been 10-12 oz. Thank you though for obtaining your new fur baby from us and hope he's happy & healthy for you!

Are they super active/hyper at that age? Like puppies? Or are they more laid back.

Chinchilla's each have their own personalities but are, in general, a quite active animal. They are not what some would refer to as a "lap pet". How tame they become is largely up to the time and attention given them and how they are treated.
