Just to clear up all the bad information, i'm not finished with the site yet, please keep this in mind. This is just a rough draft, and a lot of the information is copied from other sites. I'm not going to use this info word for word as it is, i'm going to refine it and I still have a LOT of things to change. I will give credit as appropriate, to anyone who may be wondering about that. I don't know much about some of the colors, which is why I copied and pasted in the first place. I've been doing research in the past few days, and once I feel that I know what is neccesary information to have for that color, I will delete the information I currently have, and rewrite my own descriptions.

You need to be careful with this and copy right laws. People put hard work into their site I know I would be very upset to know someone copied directly off my site with all the hard work and research I put in

I wasn't meaning to leave it like that, and I have very little copied information. I was planning on changing everything before I put it out there for people to see. I didn't mean at all to offend anyone, I've changed almost all of the information that I took from other sites, besides facts, as in dates and names and such.
Thanks though, for pointing out my mistakes everyone.

i'd also like to clear up that i'm not copying anything word for word, i'm just making general summarizations about the colors that I don't know much about. Such as sapphire, and tan. I then go back and change these summaries to "my own words".

I still need:
-Brown Velvet
-Charcoal
-Silver
-Goldbar
-Hetero Beige
-Light Tan
-Violet (no wraps please)
-Sapphire
-Light eb.
-wilson white
-I've got a black velvet, but i'd appreciate a better pic if anyone has any
-lt. standard/dk. standard
-Watery eyes
-Overgrown teeth/malocclusion
-Any ear problems
-broken limbs

I'd also like some pictures of good chin. cages, and the playrooms that you use for your chins.
thanks so much everyone for the amazing photos, all your chins are so cute >.<

you can use the picture of my FN 142 in this post

If you don't have a picture of a violet by the time I get mine, I can help you with that but that won't be until April, lol.

I can get a picture of our play pen and the chins in it tonight when I get home and if you need better pics of the cage, i can also do that. Just let me know what you need.

I don't mind helping someone get the right stuff and your getting alot of good critiques by everyone else to.

I guess as a sapphire breeder I should say most of this info is wrong. I would hate to see mis-information out there. Your website definitly needs a lot of work
This mutation is said to be the hardest to breed and take care of
It is not hard to breed or take care of, the improvement of this color is hard, but just breeding no harder than a violet...but they are cared for like any other chinchilla.
They are very light grey in color with hints of sapphire spread throughout their fur
Not how I would describe them. Have you ever seen a sapphire?

Many breeders don't like to have sapphires, as each generation produced by a sapphire tends to be smaller each time, and fur quality quickly declines
only if you are breeding sapphire to sapphire. If you are doing this correctly in theory each generation should improve, The point of breeding is to improve. My offspring tend not to be smaller than their parents. This is just wrong.

Sapphires should never be bred back to another Sapphire, as this produces quality issues in kits, and often bad fur, or small size
this is the only correct sapphire info you have
I am passionate about sapphires and hate to see bad info.they are beautiful animals if well bred

also the black velvet...the fur chewer...was he sick when you took the picture? he does not look well

This is just a rough draft, and a lot of the information is copied from other sites.

In the real world this is called "plagiarism" in case you were unaware. Try doing what all of us with websites have done and do your own research and write your own descriptions and information from what you've found. Don't copy and paste other people's work with the intention to go back and change the wording around a little.

Also, I see you have photos from other people's websites without giving credit to the original author of the photo...that's called "stealing."

So far everyone has been really nice to you and pointing out mistakes that need to be corrected, but quite honestly I don't know why...stealing other people's work without asking or giving credit is not only wrong but ILLEGAL. You've been told the mistakes and so far you have not changed anything on the website except adding in the photos people have posted to this thread. Please make the reparations or I will inform the people you took the information from that you have been stealing from their websites.

my parents are getting me a chin for christmas and i was wondering what kind of food do i buy and where do i get dust for there baths?
Mazuri is the best chinchilla food. You can't get it from pet stores, however you can buy it on-line at www.LoneStarChinchilla.com. You can buy chinchilla dust there as well. Chinchilla Club Members receive a discount.

This is utter crud. There are MANY good foods out there, and none is the "best". Also, you CAN get Mazuri from pet stores such as Pet Smart now, and most feed stores can and will order it for you.

That's just one thing I've found so far. Also, you're "violet" is a wrap.

starleomach - I don't know anything about sapphires actually, I've seen them, but only briefly. I did some research and this is what I came out with, i'll change everything around right now. haha. And the BV wasn't a fur chewer, he had been shaved (The previous owners looked to have little chin. experience and I have no idea what happened, they had the chin cage at the same level as their two small children, who were pretty wild, so i'm guessing it had something to do with them spilling something, or maybe they tried to grab him wrong and he slipped all of the fur on his rear, there's no way to really be sure and the owner had no idea what I was talking about when I asked her about it.)

RDZC - I'm DOING research, I AM writing my own descriptions, what I meant by this, is that it's just a rough research, and i'm gathering information, and i'm going to go through and actually write a paragraph instead of just having a ton of random information. 95% of my descriptions came from myself. I'm not copying and pasting anybody's work. I've gone ahead and changed everything around AGAIN just to be sure. I had a few pictures from other sites, and I wasn't aware that they were on there, as I put them up a VERY long time ago and i haven't updated those pages yet. I've deleted them, and if you see anything else that you beleive to be plagiarized, please let me know, as I will remove it immediately.

Ash - The Q & A was old information, and i've deleted it. I'm aware that my violet is a wrap, i'm trying to get a picture of a violet up, but I won't be around my violet until wednesday, and even then, she's a rescue and isn't in too good of condition, so i'm trying to get other pictures.

i have a pic of a chin in a cast if you would like it, he broke his wrist at 2 months old but he left that cast alone and regained most of his use in that arm. it was a little stiff when he grabed things but did okay.

here he is, his name was Dax
