Chin private parts

Okay I have a question. I read that typically, chinchilla testes stay in the abdominal cavity. I just got a male chin whose testes hang down a bit, so that they're visible from the outside. Is this normal? Or should I be concerned? He seems otherwise healthy, very active, good eyes/teeth, good appetite/thirst, normal poops. I don't think he's sick, I just want to double check that it's normal, since my first chin doesn't have visible testes. Thanks for all the help! :thumbsup:

It's completely normal. Sometimes you can see them very easily, other times they are more hidden.

Chantel is correct. It's perfectly normal. I have one boy who has visible testes and one who doesn't.

If you look up one of my threads, you can see them clearly on my rosco, he rarely pulls them in. XD

My guys are definitely *not* shy with their dangley bits. The only time I don't see them on one is when I'm doing a hair ring check.

3c's you are totally hilarious! I laughed so hard about dangly bits! HA HA HA HA HA. Thank you, you have no idea how badly I needed that. I too have boys that have much larger, or just more visible (not totally sure) testicles. Guess they are just like men, some have it longer in the front, and some have it longer in the back. Ha ha ha ha. If he's not bothered by you doing hair ring checks, you can feel the area where his testis are. I don't think chins tend to have problems with their nuts, but you can gently feel the area for anything not ball oriented. I think though that it's just a normal difference that they all can't be alike down there. Oh, I so needed a laugh tonight. Hopefully the picture in my mind will go away so that I can sleep. Ha ha ha ha

Males can retract their testicles, but do not always keep them there. This is so they can survive and reproduce in the cold and their little man bits can move up and be warm in freezing temps.

Often if they are dropped down they are warmer ( the chins, not the testes, lol ) Nature made them this way to keep the sperm from getting to cold, or too hot thus destroying them.

All my boys are that way but one. They are very proud of they've got that's for sure

I find it disturbing that I was giggling the whole time while reading this......"man bits" etc. hahahaha!

I will have to get my "male anatomy" diagrams and such from my Artificial Insemination class. . They might be kinda icky, but some might find the muscles and what not interesting.
