I think Gizmo might not be feeling well and I don't know what to do. He had his cage cleaned this morning and since then he seems to have pooped very little. He has a few poops in his cage but not nearly as many as usual. Also the poops that are in there are soft. He was active this morning while his cage was being cleaned but he has been much less active throughout the day. I don't know if I'm just picking up on his inactivity more because I think he might not be feeling well or if he really is being less active than usual.

I don't know if this is cause for a vet visit or if there is something I can do to maybe get him pooping again. Or maybe I'm just overreacting and he just doesn't have to go. Any advice or thoughts on whats going on with him and what I should do are appreciated.

As for soft poos, I think you should pull pellets and treats, and give him plenty of hay. See if that helps.

If he doesn't start pooping more or he poos less, take him to the vet. It could be bloat or impaction, or simply constipation.

Just keep a very close eye on him.

Is he peeing, eating, and drinking normal?

I pulled his pellets about an hour ago because I saw that you should for the soft poops. He seems to be eating, drinking and peeing normally. How long should I wait to see if he's pooping more?

If a chin's poop production is low and what does come out is soft, I definitely feel a Vet visit is needed. The fact he is eating hay and drinking and peeing makes me fear impaction is beginning although the whole soft poos thing is a bit off with that to me.

Put him on white paper towels so you can really monitor poop over night and if it's still not a lot call the vet in the AM. If he is beginning to be lethargic you better call an E-Vet.

Also does the poop seem to have a slim on them or just soft?

The pooping seems to have picked up but everything still looks soft and maybe darker than usual? They are definitely just soft though. No slim. I guess we'll see how things look in the morning.
