I think we're ALL hoping for the best with your little guy - good luck!!

That's good news! If he can heal it with a splint and no surgery, that would certainly be an ideal option! As you're obviously already aware, just check in with him fairly often to make sure the splint isn't cutting off circulation... and you might want to keep an eye on his weight just to make sure he's still eating enough. When Kokomo had his surgery, it took about 2 months before he was allowed to use the leg again (including a few minor mishaps - splint not holding the leg in the right position, pin falling out, splint too tight - you name it ), and then went through physical therapy for another month or so to get the range of motion back (which you may need to go through after this, depending how the splint is set up). It's up to you and your vet, but you might want to consider getting him xrayed a bit sooner - maybe after 2 weeks - to make sure it's not healing improperly. Good luck!!

Did they give the little guy anything for pain. It has got to hurt! Good luck with the little fella and keep us posted.

Yes, it's me with the 2-legged chin, Little Two Paws Shakur!!!

Little Two Paws was born with only the 2 legs on his right side and a nubbin (or as I say it resembles, the end of a chicken drumstick) for a back left.

I'm glad to hear that your little Chin Man is doing well, but if amputation should become necessary, please know that it is NOT the end of the world. Animals are so much more accepting of their situations -- Little Two Paws gets around just fine; he doesn't know that he's any different.

We send our best wishes and whisker kisses on a speedy recovery!!!
