Best/Worst Brand of Dust

I personally really like Chill Dust. It’s the finest sand we have come across and our chinny goes mad for it. He won’t roll as much in other ones.
Worst dust I ever used I don’t actually recall the name of — it was more like sand than actual dust. That being said in my experience the Kaytee dust isn’t nearly as good as Chill Dust.

There is a difference in dust, it's mined from different locations so it can contain different types of pumice (which is why some is white some is grey) as well as different they have different textures. Kaytee dust is one of the worst, there have been several people lately (like in the past year) that have had chins with eye, skin, and/or lung issues after using from using kaytee dust. Aside from that issue the kaytee tends to be courser which doesn't clean the fur as well and can leave them feeling gritty. You don't want any that are dust powders (too fine) or dust sand (too course) either.
Currently Chill Dust as mentioned is considered the best, I've never tried it though since you can only buy it online in the US (I'm in Canada). I use Oxbow Poof and haven't had any issues, the PetSmart's Full Cheeks, Petco's dust (I can't remember the new name of it), and Lixit Blue Beauty, are all mined from the same Blue Beauty mine as Poof, so the dust is pretty much all the same for those ones. Pet Post is an example of the white pumice dust bath that I've heard people say is also good, again I've never tried it myself though.

There is a difference and I agree that Kaytee is awful.
We actually use Tiny Friends sand for chinchillas cut with baking soda. They bathe once a week. Not ideal I know, but all of the dust we could find sets off my Asthma badly so it was sand or no dust baths. Cannot have dust in the house.
Been doing this for years with no issues thankfully and their fur looks great.

I join the recomendation for Poof. Tries several ones (can't remember names), the Chins clearly preferred the Oxbow Poof.

I currently use Chill Dust, and really like it. It's very fine, so it sticks to and penetrates her fur really nicely. In the past I've also used the Petco brand, which was perfectly adequate and didn't cause any issues, but it wasn't as fine as Chill Dust.
I've heard bad things about Kaytee's dust, though I've never used it myself.

I'm aware that I'm late to be postong but for those who see this, DO NOT use katyee chinchilla dust!! I can't stress it enough!! It made my chinchilla sick for almost a week and it really scared me. Maybe some do fine but why risk it? Chico wouldn't even use it after the first time, he just ate it.(idk what's in it to made it tempting to eat but obviously not blue cloud dust) When I read the reviews,(trying to find the culprit for his very unusual lethargy) I found out that it causes eye infectons and has sent a few to the ER so don't use it please. It also gets everywhere and is so thick and almost tan compared to oxbow poof.
