ahhhhhh!!!! a violet is so hard to resist...if i could get another it wud definitely be a violet....they are my favorite after BVs!!! i dont know how you are going to resist!!!
AndyMilo, I love BVs too. I have one, her name is Nyx and I adore her. I guess my favorite part of owning Chinchillas is getting to know them. Their personalities are sooo vibrant and interesting.
Evening Chin I started with simply one beige girl and now I have 8! And I don't have a standard, a brown or black velvet or a dark chocolate tan. I love my violet boy--he's not a wrap and that's what I love about him--his white-white belly. I love to kiss it! IF I was a mean mom I would make my son move out right now so I could turn his room into a chin room and then I would definitely have one of every color!!! Don't fight the addiction--feed it!
I was so blessed a week ago to find a little violet wrap boy - in need of medical attention and some love. We've named him Jack Voulet - and while he has a good ways to go in recovery - he's a total sweetheart....I hadn't planned on a violet - I'm getting a sapphire next weekend at York (and also a standard)....but I couldn't turn him down.
I think there's a new thing developing here, and while I can't officially diagnosis it - I think several of us have develped MCS....Multiple Chin Syndrome.....and we just can't stop. At least I have taken the first stem and admitted that I have a problem. Anyone care to join me?
Told you I would post them and here they are!! First picture is a violet male born Feburary 2009, second picture is a violet wrap female born Nov. 2008, third picture is a violet wrap female born April 2008 and finally the last picture is Indy born on the 4th of July!
So many chins and not enough cages. I've been contaminated with the chin bug for several years. Sadly my addiction has progressed into searching for that grand show champion black velvet female that is proven, for sale and kits that have been winners. Psssssssssst Rickman.....your "just wrong" posting those violet pictures! :hilarious:
I've had my heart out for a violet, saphire or one of the black colors. Maybe over the summer I'll pick up a new chin to hopefully keep my two company.
And I'm right between the two of you - violets and x-tra dark ebonies, too!
I've a litter due any time now, and she last had 5! [x-dk] Pics when it happens! :impatient:
Im in the same boat, ive only had carriers & do have one violet. Im picking up my violet wrap in a few weeks though & am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited! I agree, pretty much the only thing that stops most of us, is room & time!
I gotta agree that space is the only deterant. Even then you will find yourself plotting ways to make it work. LOL
I was at max capacity when Friday became available. I just couldn't resist. I was picking up feed from her breeder on the day she was born. About three months later I was right place, right time and the first to ask about her. I told myself it was fate.
Violets are my fav though. I think my next acquisition will be a TOV violet or maybe a white violet. Of course, there have been alot of really cute wraps lately. Decisions, decisions.
