Hey again everyone, we want to update you on our babies and ask some more questions. First off, we separated the chins and will not try to breed them. Thanks so much to everyone for the opinions. We admit that we bought them on impulse but after reading so much on this site, we are now prepared for the task. We have food for the chins and bedding, but I'm not sure one of them likes it too much.
What are your favorite foods and bedding for your chins?

I feed Mana Pro Rabbit Show and I use kiln dried pine for bedding. I have used other foods and other types of bedding before, I have found these to be the best for my chins.

I currently feed Alderpark Pellets (from Vancouver Island), though in the past I have fed Mazuri and Oxbow. I currently use fleece for bedding, but in the past have used kiln dried pine shavings.

I feed Mazuri and use fleece liners with a litter pan filled with either pine or aspen shavings. The food that you use should be something that you can get easily and consistently, and have nothing but pellets in it (no nuts, seeds, dried fruit, etc.)

A lot of people use rabbit pellets because chin pellets contain junk and can't be bought in large amounts. Nutrena, manna pro sho, and mazuri seem to be the most popular with some using oxbow or purina. It depends on your area as to what you can get. You will have better luck at a feed store than a pet store. You will also need some form of hay. We use cubes because loose hay on fleece just doesn't clean well.

Fleece is just fleece blankets. You can buy it by the yard at fabric stores or walmart. Make sure to get shears designed to cut fabric because we found your typical scissors even if they are expensive extra sharp titanium ones don't do it. The dull kitchen shears worked better.

I figured that out about three seconds after I posted my question. I swear, some days I just wake up dumb.

But thank you very much for the suggestions, especially on the scissors.

we feed our chins Oxbow. we use fleece for the bottom of the cage and use Carefresh in a separate area where they go pee.

fleece- you can either buy it by the yard at Walmart or other crafting stores, as some people will suggest, or buy those three- or four-dollar rolled up fleece blankets from Walgreens/CVS/etc (some Walmart stores don't sell fabric by the yard- like mine).

hope this helps! :)
