Is it ok to use a ball with a chinchilla? You you put them inside and they roll around

No they are not safe. They are known as death balls. It causes the chin to overheat which leads to heatstroke.

It's a waste of money, they are cheaply made, chins rarely like they at all (chins hop, they don't really walk)...and they can kill a chin.

Do a thread search for "death ball." I would never put my chin in one.

When we first got our little guy an exercise ball was suggested to us by one of the people at PetSmart. I hadn't been introduced to this site yet and I just went with it. Poor little guys ears got all red and he laid down after a few minutes. I knew this was bad mojo and searched for a cause which led me here. Safe to say he never went in the ball again and we got a nice large exercise space for him to bound around in.

My first two came from Petco and came home with the works-Ball, cedar shavings, plastic igloo, shelves, wheel, Charlie chinchilla food and no hay, you get the picture-I did not know either until after I had them for a month and joined a forum.
