I'm considering making the switch to fleece liners for my FN, as I think it looks better and I'm also going mad with all the sweeping up shavings on my floor. Just one question, though - how necessary is it to have some sort of method of attaching the liners to the cage (to prevent them from scooting around)? Do most who use fleece liners have rings or clips to fasten them to the cage, or do you find that your chins' "furniture" is enough to keep them in place? Most of the liners I see for sale on various sites don't feature clips, so I got curious. :)

Well, some people use clips, magnets, velcro or just 'weights' to hold them down.

I think it's really up to preference as to what you want to use. I use pieces of marble or something heavy in my corners to hold the liners down. I've made a few liners with clips on them and my chins still got under the liners, they just couldn't flip them up. I'm not a big fan of velcro when using with rodents, but I'm sure some people have had success with it. I also worry about the use of magnets if a chin decides to eat through a liner.

I just use their potty and a piece of marble for weights and occasionally get a corner flipped up. My boys aren't too into burrowing though either.

I just put something on each side. A tile here, a litter box there, a hidey house over there...lol I still have my burrower who can get under no matter I try to do, but I've learned to live with it. It he likes his cage to be all messed up all the time, so be it. :p

I've made my own liners so they slip on the liner like a pillow case. I like it because of the look of it- and it's easier to vaccuum up the poop. I will say though you want a pretty good sewing machine or will want to hand sew to make them with 3 layers and a slip.. I broke my little crappy machine while making one.
