I am very sorry to report that Sara*, the female chin, was put down today. I just got off the phone with the vet a little while ago and he said her heart murmer was a 4. He wasnt in this morning or I would have asked him in person. We talked about what her quality of life would be like if we went on with the filing and everything, he said that she would most likely have problems the rest of her life which would require alot of treatment. In the end her quality of life just wouldnt have been worth it.
LovinHedgies:I dont know if your intrested in a male but let me know if we could possibly work something out. Both babies and dad have checked out well. I did have them checked for heart murmers as well just to be on the safe side, none of them have one. They all seem healthy and are eating a ton. They now have the whole cage to themselves.

Over all its been a tough day, I didnt realize how attached you could become in only 2 weeks. I thank you for your continuing support.

EDIT: *forgot to say that we named her Sara after the vet tech because they needed a name for their records.

RIP Sara. You did the right thing. It is amazing how bonded we can become in a small amount of time.

It's always a hard choice, but many times the best one. RIP Sara. I'm glad you were cared for well in the last 2 weeks of your life.

RIP sara...I never got to meet you, I wish I could have.

Chintastic - at this time I am not interested in a male chin. Thank you for all the care and love you gave to Sara. I know you did the right thing, Sara is no longer in pain.

It's one of the hardest choices to make as far as letting go but I'm glad that Sara knew what love was at the end. RIP Sara.
