    Secret Santa 2011 Wishlist

Dear Secret Santa, The three of us and mommy aren't super picky, so we will love anything you send us! We always need wood to chew on. We especially love toys made by Susan (AZchins), loofah from Amy (F&O loofah) and other stuff like hay cubes and pumice. We also loooove hay from Tanya...

    Vegan Thanksgiving Menu Items

I'm at work atm, but when I get home I have a few vegan and vegetarian recipes I have used for the holidays that I can post... Rosemary bread, mushroom stuffing, chocolate cupcakes, and I'm sure I have a few more...

    Is this the right food?

I guess it's been a while since I have looked at their formulas... pro used to be 18-20% protein. I would still use the sho over the pro since it contains probiotics.

    Is this the right food?

It should be the sho formula. The pro formula is a bit too high in protein imo.

    Our fish tank!

Nice setup Megs! And very pretty fishies! I have always liked angelfish, they were my faves as a kid when my Dad kept an aquarium. The ghost is very interesting though. I don't think I have ever seen one before.

    Official Secret Santa 2011

Use a friend or a family member's address... ;) Or just delete your location for now on here if no one knows you too well on the boards.

Feel like I'm doing something wrong...

I agree, I think you have made great progress. Just the fact that he uses you as a launching pad during playtime means that he knows you aren't going to hurt him and trusts you somewhat. Some chins just aren't as friendly as others. But from your interactions with him in the cage, it sounds...

    Tarantulas!

Susan, it depends on the species. My two Brachypelmas are terrestrial, opportunistic burrowers, which means they won't necessarily dig out their own burrow, but they do require at least some sort of shelter to hide in. My GBB is semi-arboreal so it won't do much digging around at all. GBB's...

    Tarantulas!

Freshly molted and having a drink of water! See how bright orange her knees are now compared to my first pic? This is what their setup looks like Yes, there is a spider in that little condiment container. My little curlyhair is still much to small to be moved into one of those terrariums...

    Tarantulas!

Indeed she does Julie. In fact... I got home, went to bed, and woke up to find out that she had molted! I was like, no wonder she was acting funny when I brought her home. I thought it was just stress, but I guess she was in pre-molt. And her abdomen was just so fat and swollen when I got...

    Tarantulas!

Another one! Sooo... I just got back from the Herp World expo in Pasadena and came home with this gorgeous girl. An almost 2" Brachypelma smithi. She is so gorgeous and I got her at a pretty good price. The show itself was pretty cool. There was so much stuff to see that I really didn't get...

    Tarantulas!

Susan, of course I am keeping it! I'm not sure what I want to do with them yet... maybe make a chronological shadowbox frame of them in the future. In the least, I do want to frame the skin when it gets to its largest size and with its adult coloration. And I think they are super low...

    Tarantulas!

My GBB molted today! I was lucky to have the old skin still intact. Wasn't able to get a pic of my newly grown little one as it was still too shy to come out of its webby corner.

How to spend time with your chins?

When I am at home, most of my day pretty much revolves around the chins. But this is because they are in my den/living room. I can watch them while I watch tv and while I'm on my computer. I love bothering them during commercials or just take a break from being on the computer. Sometimes I...
