    Bedding Container?

You could probably get a large garbage can and keep it slightly open to make sure it doesn't get damp. It just won't be the most visually appealing option unless you could store it somewhere.

Allergy to pine shavings? Small crust at corners of eye.

Its possible it could be an allergy. How thorough of a dental exam did they do? A lot of times, watery eyes are an indication of malocclusion.

    Chinchilla won't eat pellets?

So no change in brand of pellets. Did they get wet/moldy or did something happen to the pellets that would make her not eat them? If she's drinking water and eating hay, that's a good sign. Maybe its stress from the move? How is her activity level?

    Carriers?

All of these QC carriers would be fine. http://qualitycage.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=129_142_154

    Witte molen pellets

I would go with Oxbow over those.

    Carriers?

Ryerson or QC carriers are fine. Even better if you have a local feed/farm store and you can find a rabbit carrier or other metal small animal carrier.

large cage for baby...remove top ledges?

Sounds pretty high. I would remove the ledges myself and be on the safe side.

Yay! Finally got a chinchilla!!! :d

It will take a lot of time and patience. I wouldn't try to force it and keep trying to handle the chin daily. I also wouldn't give a dust bath daily as it can dry them out. Once a week is fine.

    litter pan?

A large glass Pyrex dish is the easiest and cheapest thing to use...and you don't have to pay for shipping!

    Picky picky

So sorry to hear that. My chins didn't go for cottonwood either unless there were just a couple pieces on a mixed wood hanging toy. I've found the safest route is to stick to fruit woods for chew sticks, like apple, pear, and kiwi. You can't go wrong with those. I honestly think Mips would...

    Sprucing up the cages

Shooper, Whimsy, and Twilight Chins are great vendors. I think Twilight may have a wait list though. There are other great vendors in our classifieds area too.

    introductions

I agree with Susan. Short supervised visits should be fine to get him accustomed, or have him in a different cage nearby.

    help

You need to keep them separated. Getting him a female friend wasn't the correct way of stopping him from mutilating himself. It sounds like there was another issue going on and he should have been seen by a vet in person. Diagnosing online isn't going to help or stop the problem. There is a...

    Mother's Death

Definitely follow the FAQ and like Tunes said, you'll have to feed frequently and make sure they are urinating, defecating, etc. You can find goats milk at Walmart, both the fresh version (along with the other dairy products) or in canned form where you find the condensed milk/baking goods...

my chin is a picky chewer

Its normal for them to be picky with woods. I stick to fruit wood, namely apple, pear and kiwi. If he only likes the bark, try to get the thinner sticks so you don't waste as much.

    KMS Hay/Pellets

I can't say enough good things about KMS. Their hay is fresh and my chins won't eat anything else now. A lot of people order hay from them, though I don't know anything about their pellets. I'd assume they're good quality.

    Ughh water bottles

I would go with Lixit. They are a very dependable brand and haven't failed me yet! Plastic is fine as long as they can't get to it through the bars. Otherwise, you can get metal water bottle guards if you need to.

    Terracotta?

I would use a brand new pot if you're going to use terra cotta. You never know what leeches out from the soil that you've used.

    Hay

Your chin will be fine. They don't have to have hay everyday.
