    Hello from Texas!

Welcome to the group!! I am very supportive of people who do research before getting their animals. There's lots of good info here (use the search at the top if you need to find something and just filter for the hedgehog side). If you can't find something, just ask!

    Hiya

Welcome to the group! Glad you've chosen to do some research before getting into the hedgie world. Lots to learn but it should be fun. If you can't find something, try the search at the top (filter for the hedgehog side though). Still can't find it, just ask!

    Aargh!!

WHen you get your emitter, perhaps you can connect it to a thermostat (there is a contraption for the emitter so that it will only turn on when the temp drops below what you set it at). Let us know how the running goes.

    Weights

Hooked up a new odometer last night. By morning the magnet (which had been securely attached to the wheel) had been removed and kicked to the side. It would have taken hours of effort to remove. Greyson has therefore expressed exactly what he thinks about me tracking his progress.

    Help! He hates me =[

I don't know what the push method is to be honest, but biting can be a result of many things. He either loves something he is smelling, is associating you with food (do you ever feed him from your hands, in which case I would stop), is stressed (and is trying to tell you something like "I want...

    Help! He hates me =[

This is fairly normal. Some hedgies just like to bite down on clothing (especially if it has a scent of some kind) and pull, like tug o' war (very gently of course). I have one albino who just sucks on my clothes. He gets so into it, that he relaxes and closes his eyes while he does it. We...

    New hedgehog owner here!

Welcome to the group! Every hedgie is a little different. Some come around quickly, some don't. Some hedgies become cuddlers, some become explorers. Be patient, especially as your hedgehog becomes acquainted with you and it's new environment. Try different times at night. Also as you learn what...

    Still sick

Baytril can upset his tummy as well. There are some medicines that calm and coat the stomach (can't remember the name but hopefully someone on here will). Try feeding A/D as well. If he isn't eating dry food, just baby food he may need more nutients. A/D is good and easy to syringe or maybe...

MY brother Bitten by hedge HELP!

The hedgehogs need to be separated, immediately please. Your hedgehog is very stressed out and needs her space. She is likely pregnant. Please read the breeding section as you have a LOT to prepare for. Your brother will be fine, just keep the wound clean until it heals.

    Hello!!

Welcome! There's a big difference between hedgies and chins of which I'm sure you are aware. Hopefully you'll find lots of info here on hedgies (which I'm assuming are less familiar to you) to make the right choice for your lifestyle.

    Picking out a Hedgie

This is a tricky one. It is hard to tell if an animal is fully healthy and despite all the precautions, all animals get sick. It is more important that the hedgie is a good fit for you (temperment wise) since illness may be difficult to figure out unless you find a good reputable breeder and...

    Hello everyone!

Welcome back to the forum Penny. I always think maybe I'll stop having hedgies after each one passes because it is just so painful. Yet here we are, still at it. I guess once one touches our lives, they'll always have a hold on us in one way or another.
