What is the safe paint to mark quills?

... two dabs of paint covered 4 hedgehogs? Now THAT'S science!

    Alexander and the Green Poop

I wonder if he's just a creature of habit, and the abscence of medicine has him feeling a little confused. I wonder if the green poop would go away if you syringed him another liquid, like really diluted water? Maybe he liked the routine of the medicine, and that disturbance is what's causing...

What is the safe paint to mark quills?

I made Kismet a vet appointment for tomorrow. The vet had some time today, but I had no way of getting her all the way across the city at 10am. Adam can drop her off at 7:30 tomorrow morning and pick her up after work. Now, I just have to run out and grab some children's paint to mark her up. I...

What is the safe paint to mark quills?

Thanks! I don't need anything really permament... just permanent enough to stay put for about 8 hours, at most. She can't reach the spot to lick, so that makes things easier.

What is the safe paint to mark quills?

Tomorrow, I'm calling Kismet's vet to book her in for a look-see of the infected area on her back. The skin itself is starting to look a bit infecting (not oozing, mind you, but a little gray and "lumpy") and I want to nip that in the bud. However, I can't really take any more time off work, so...

    Annointing!

Cuda is like that! He'll annoint over my watch 8 or 9 times in a row, move onto my jeans, socks and random spots on the floor. Then he'll gravitate back to my leather watch band and annoint a few more times before he continues on his way.

    Whose Birthday is it? 7/3/09

    Happy birthday!

    What could this be?

EDIT (I missed the 10-minute deadline): The vet just called back and advised me to put her back on her Amoxicillan for 5 days. It will help heal the cut from the inside. He also said the Polysporin wouldn't hurt for a few days, just to prevent infections from the outside. He said to continue...

    What could this be?

Update on the Diva: Her blood blister drained over the last couple days and now she has a lovely scab instead. Last night, the scab ripped away from her skin a bit, and created a bit of a "hole" in her skin. It seems to be typical of blisters - the scab comes away and you're left with an indent...

Got bit - wow did it hurt!

I have a hedgehog that does that too... he will actually lunge at fingers for no good reason. I call him my little sport biter. Eventually, you become so desensitized to it that you carry on a conversation, without falter, as the hog is chomping on your finger. Cuda is one of the jaw grinders...

Got bit - wow did it hurt!

Eventually, the bites stop hurting so much and you'll actually be able to hold completely still during it.

Can you tell what this is?

It's a man's face, facing right but looking left.

    What could this be?

Well, she has a tube, her hedgie bag and I've moved the wheel away from the wall of her cage so it's still a tight fit to get behind... just not impossible. She still insists on trying to squeeze under her wheel. She doesn't use it... just squeezes under. What other things could I give her...

    Alexander Pics

If you can get photos of them in similar lighting, I can photoshop them together like I did with the trio for your birthday card a while back.

    Alexander Pics

Hey, that second to last photo looks familiar! I have a whole bunch of those on my camera too! He's so handsome. Such a dark little face he has... I love it!

    Introducing Harvey (pics)

Awww. I love albinos. SO cute! As for the photo thing, I've just started aiming the camera about 3 steps in front of the hog. By the time I press the shutter and the camera takes the photo, the hog is usually in the frame.

Stop and smell the roses day

What a great idea. I think in the hustle and bustle of normal life, we don't take enough opportunities to just stop and take a breather. Right now, I'm very glad that Kismet's health issues seem to be coming to an end. Her mouth healed fantastically after her oral surgery and that strange blood...

    Phoebe and Ronnie

Happy "Gotcha Day", Phoebe! I love that last picture of Ronnie. She just looks so... well, so disgruntled.
