Be careful having your kitten around your chinchilla. It can be dangerous as cats have been known to injure chinchillas with claws- even through the cage bars. I would recommend keeping your cat away from your chinchilla altogether. It's not worth the risk in my opinion.

Oxbow is a really good food. If you can get that in smaller bags, I would. I'm not really familiar with the rabbit type foods. Mazuri is what I feed my chins. I never had an issue with the soft poops, but I guess if I was doing it again- I would feed Oxbow just to avoid a potential problem. ;)
