This morning I had to put down my baby turbo...he was neutered Thursday and I woke up to him laying there with his intestines out. I am beyond sad I can't believe this. I am so mad at myself for doing this to him. I just hope he is in chinchilla heaven and will forgive me. I will always love him.

It's currently 7 am... I gave him his pain meds and watched him eat a few pieces of hay and a couple pellets. There is also one more small poop. He seems more active. I tried hand feeding but it's so hard he freaks out! I left a message with the vet I'm really scared at this point.

The e collar was preventing him from eating...he literally could not put the food in his mouth. I took it off and he is eating a little now and so far he hasn't bothered with the area. Idk what to do put it back on or leave it off?

I would take her to the vet if she was my chinchilla. She could be in a lot of pain but chins are known to hid it very well. Also I would separate them if you already haven't. Hope everything works out!

Thanks for the advice everyone! I am pretty sure I am going to get him neutered just so they can stay a bonded pair. I have been reading up on it and I think I can handle the after care. I will take a couple days off work so I can be there in case something happens. Thanks again :)
