    Carriers?

Does anyone know what the shipping would be for two single carriers from Quality Cage?

    chin agression

Kits under 6 months should not get playtime... Not sure if you are feeding treats but they should not get any of those under 6 months either. Kits do not know their limits and they can run themselves into seizures. They should also have limited jumping spots, since they're rather clumsy and are...

    Carriers?

I feel like I'm spamming because I keep posting Lol. I'm buying a travel carrier for the chins and I'm torn. I currently have two chins and I don't know if I want a double carrier or a single. It's unlikely that I would need to transport them both at the same time, however I feel that the...

    Small poop

I mean they kind of appear like this photo but it's just unusual for him. His poops have been considerably larger pretty much since I got him. There are more like the small one in the middle but there are also ones the size of the others as well. Looking at my other chins poop(which has always...

    Small poop

My bathtub has these no slip sticker things on the bottom... They've been there since I moved in so I'm not sure if that would be a suitable idea. Should I lay some fleece down and give it a go? Should I provide him with anything to eat so help stimulate him to poop?

    Small poop

The poop is solid on the inside, completely healthy. I checked a few different sizes to be sure and they all appear fine. They were a bit hard, but they were likely just poops from yesterday. Some are close to normal size for him, others are smaller. My other chins poop is about the size that...

    Small poop

So one of my chins has been having smaller poops lately. He's eating, drinking and peeing all normally. His behavior has not changed, nor has his weight. I thought that it might have been from giving him too many 50/50 alfalfa Timothy cubes, so I thought nothing of it. None of his habits have...

    Dumping food ._.

What kind of bowls are those? Do you have a picture? I've tried the heaviest one I can find, of various sizes and he still dumps it. The chins are in my bedroom and I'm not a fan of the clinking of the dish(I'm used to their sounds but this one is newer so I can't quite sleep through this...

    Dumping food ._.

One of my chinchillas has been dumping his food. I have one of those bowls that fit in the hoop and attach to the side of the cage. He dumps regular bowls to and when I bought the one I currently have, the behavior stopped. It's started again and it's driving me crazy. I always toss food out...

Keeping Chins in Los Angeles - help!!!

I live in Pennsylvania and I keep my AC(window unit) in until November/December, and it goes back in as soon as temperatures reach 60. While it's in, I have it running 24/7... You won't be able to just turn it off while you're away. I imagine you'd need an AC all year round, but I'm not too...

    New to site...newbie with Chin

First... Baytril needs to be given with other meds to stimulate appetite(I cannot recall which). Many chins won't eat on baytril so it's best avoided unless you need it. This is probably why she isn't eating. Chinchillas should not have yogurt... You need to buy some Critical Care, Lifeline, or...

    Bedding Options

I haven't noticed any smell... The bag I use is a scented garbage bag and I tie it shut. My chins are also litter trained(one is, the other misses the box but at least he makes an effort) so that cuts back on the smell. I usually wash every 2-3 weeks.

    Bedding Options

I wash my fleece every few weeks. My liners are changed weekly but I put the dirty ones in a bag. Once there is enough liners to make a load, I wash them. I haven't had an issue with smell yet. :] I also shake mine outside before washing them... That gets most of the bits off of it.

    Chinchilla ate wire ://

This actually happened to my chin. A wire that I usually hung up out of reach fell down, so one of my chins pulled it through the cage and chewed it. I rushed mine to the vet and he told me there was minor electrical burns. My chin wasn't eating much so I fed him CC until his mouth was healed...

Can chins reach through CN cage bars?

I've got two CN cages, one for each chin. One of them has a pile of all my fleece on top... The other has nothing. One chin will obsess over anything that's on top while the other won't even bother(since it's just fleece he doesn't care). If you think your chin may chew it, perhaps put a...

    Help! New chin introduction!

I also want to note that spaying is rather dangerous... You don't want to fix a chin just to cage it with others. It's not worth the risk and a spay is much more invasive than a neuter. They're tiny animals and a lot can go wrong, which is why you shouldn't spay/neuter unless there is a medical...

    Chin took a tumble

It's his sleepy part of the day so I can't tell if he is moving slowly. He doesn't appear to be moving oddly and he looks alright. Should I make him an appointment and get metacam and tramadol? Must they be given together for any specific reason? Work is closed today and I'm off tomorrow but...

    Chin took a tumble

As said in my post, nothing appears off. It's the time of day where is isn't very active so it's difficult to say if nothing has changed. I just don't want to rule out taking him to the vet if that's the best plan of action here. :/

    Chin took a tumble

One of my chins decided it was a wonderful idea to jump on the cage door and hurl himself to the floor. I have a double CN and it was one of the top doors. He hit my other cage on the way down before scurrying under it for a few minutes. Everything appears alright. He has no visible...
