Updated a prior thread. . . today was the first time I tried to give the guys their dust bath. I put the dust bath in the cage and sat back to watch. They wouldn't go in! They walked on it and around it and sniffed it but wouldn't go inside. HUH? :banghead: Laurie

Well, I put the dust bath in the cage and stood back. For an hour. Nothing. They didn't go inside. They jumped on top of it. They sniffed it. The walked all the way around it. But, never went inside. I guess I'll try again tomorrow!

I have a question (and I may already know the answer :wacko: ). My two new chins are here; and I have been spending time with them and letting them climb on my hands and arms in the cage, but haven't taken them out yet. Am letting them get their bearings and all. Well, I realize I've had them...

They are the most sweet babies; I love them with their little heads under my chin. :) I think they are just getting used to EVERYTHING being new. I know they'll be fine in a few days. I just can't wait to hold them again!!

I am using the bathroom, but am getting a 'playpen' with a bottom and a lid, just a small area, 3' x 3', where they can hang out with me while I play on my computer :) after their playtime is over and before bed.

Currently aspen shavings, but have ordered fleece liners to try.

The basement is at least 8-10 degrees cooler. We do run a dehumidifier in the basement all spring and summer. I think they will be ok in the loft for the fall and winter. it's quite cool up there then. Then I'll have to make a decision about how much I want to spend for electricity next...

Well, my cage has ARRIVED, along with the deeper floor pans/trays. So that means as soon as my husband and I put it together (tomorrow) we can pick up the boys!!!! So, Friday is the big day and I can hardly wait!! I won't have everything in the cage that I want, but I will have enough in there...
