I don`t think we can compare the chinchilla.com prices with what 90% of the people will pay for a chinchilla. The auction site can sell a nicely marked mosaic for thousands of Dollars, and most buyers that pay that much are overseas. Claudia

Are his eyes closed when he does this? He could be going to sleep and then wake up startled but if it happens regularly he might have an ear infection. You might want to have a Vet check him out. Is he eating and acting normal otherwise? Claudia

I have to agree with Michelle, a chinchilla should not be "trained", you might want to consider getting a puppy if you want to train a pet. Claudia

It just looks like furslip to me, nothing to worry about. It will grow back. Chinchillas will slip their fur when they get touched and feel threatened, it`s their escape mechanism. Claudia
