    Klinger's Eyes & Dust sensitivity

Quality Mutation Chinchillas sells Sweet PDZ by the pound. I don't recall off the top of my head who else does, but I'm sure others will crop up with suggestions here before too long.

    Stuffy Nose?

I'm glad you're getting your chinnie to the vet. I'm crossing my fingers that he'll get better soon!

Pseudomonas aeruginosa otitis media and interna in a chinchilla ranch

This makes me so glad I give Freya fresh water each day, and sanitize her whole bottle once a week. This really looks like it kills pretty fast once they start showing symptoms.

    "gunk" from her back end?

I recall hearing that chins can conceive while they're already pregnant with one litter. I'm guessing that's why?

    "gunk" from her back end?

*takes note* I will try to check her morning and night. Lucky for me, her cage is right next to the couch, so I can watch her play (ah, studio apartments...) and notice if she's being lethargic.

    "gunk" from her back end?

I've had Freya for almost two months now. She's eating and drinking normally, and she's definitely active (lol, woke me up last night moving her coconut shell around and redecorating her cage). I didn't know that they had discharge when they went into heat. I'll see if I can get her to let me...

    "gunk" from her back end?

I noticed that Freya's had some small poops the last couple days, so I wanted to give her a stomach massage. But when I (finally) managed to pick her up and get a good look at her, I noticed this sort of... gunk, like a whitish-clear discharge, coming from her vagina. She got really fidgety and...

Need ideas: chin hates handling. Lives in top of FN 142.

When I first got Freya and she didn't like being handled for long enough to get her from her cage to the bathroom, I used a cardboard box to transport her from cage to playtime. I just put my hand over the opening, or got another piece of cardboard, and I kept it in the bathroom with her. When...

Family member is allergic to Timothy Hay!

Freya refuses to even touch them, but hay cubes might be an option for your chin! Compressed hay cubes really cut down on the dust, and would be less problematic for family members that are allergic to the hay.

    New chinchilla Owner questions!

The first several times I let Freya out for playtime in the bathroom, I had a cardboard box with a cover. I opened up the door to her cage, let her crawl in, put the cover over the opening, and took her to the bathroom in that setup. It was far, far less stressful on her than it would have been...

    Ooopsies...

The moment I saw who posted this thread, my first thought was "Oh dear, what's Handbag done this time?" LOL. I love seeing pictures of him, Annie. Thanks for sharing his craziness with us. :D

    Poop ninja

My boyfriend and I cleaned up the area around Freya's cage just today, and ever since we did that, we've been finding random little poops all over the entire apartment. Places that aren't even by her cage and where she's never been! So my boyfriend has dubbed our chinchilla a "poop ninja". :rofl2:
