If you had to eat a chin, no matter how hard you tried to avoid it, what would you think a chinchilla would taste like? Please note I'm not advocating the eating of a chin. Just curious of what you'd think they would taste like.

Depends........Are we talking grilling, baking, stir frying? With or without herbs? Or a good marinate? BBQ sauce or a good grilling rub? ( just kidding of course ) Not sure what the flavor might be. However I did watch Andrew Zimmer eat a guinea pig. Looked good. I only say that because I grew up in a household who were hunters. Come to think of it...........squirrel!! Thats it. Would taste like squirrel. ;)

I'm appalled this question was even asked here!
I'm trying NOT to go off, as there's probably 10,000 chins owned as PETS on this forum!

Rick some people have nothing better to do then ask.....ummm stupid questions. Of course I am being very sarcastic. Should of added that. Please view added Sarcasm below. Hugs Rick and begs for forgiveness. However I have eaten a whole lifetime of hunting game and its good. And unknown to all of you my g/f and I have a particular dog we cook up in many versions. I guilty of madness and moments of "old timers".

:SarcasmOn: ( for above post of course )

well think of it this way, what is someone obsessed with chickens like we are with chinnies, hears a question like this? Same goes with pigs, cows, ect. ect.

I saw that food show with Andrew Zimmerman and he ate guinea pig and he said it tasted like mild chicken, so my guess would be chin-kin.

it is sad but they do eat them in spain very often. they are too cute to even think about consuming them :cry3:

Maybe if more people ate chin, the meat off pelted chins would not go to waste...

I've never eaten it but know of people who have, and they indeed said it tastes like chicken.

ETA: Goldenbelmont, I happen to think good for you, this world runs around worrying about hurting people's feelings all the time, don't say merry Christmas, don't say God Bless, don't say this, don't call it that. If you're offended... don't look, don't listen, or get over your imaginary idea that your way is the only way. :neener:

chin-kin............very funny!!

i would starve to death or eat a leaf or something.....

Everything tastes like chicken LOL....My Hubby and his buddies joke about eating chinchillas to get me worked up doesn't work...now when they say something is good what is it (like in stir fry) I say you know I never thought with all that fur.......

In life you can't take things to seriously I am not calling this person a troll but on forums like this you have people come on and say things to get people riled up. It is only fun for them if it works.

CHINKIN? LOL I like it.

I don't know what anyone is getting worked up about. It's just a hypothetical, it's not like they said "Hey, I'm GOING to eat a chinchilla, anyone have any recipes?" Sometimes it's good to ask the silly questions.

Relax. It is just a joke. I answered but I have absolutely no intention of eating my pet chinnies. Or ANY chinnies for that matter.

I don't think anyone on this forum would seriously consider eating a chinnie.

I had a girl send me a recipie for chins- she thought it was funny. STUPIDLY, she used her mother's account. Suitable action was taken. She failed to see the humour in our failing to see the humour in her message.
