What types of worms are safe to feed hedgies? also which is the best for them?

Mealworms, waxworms, silkworms, crickets (not a worm but a yummy treat for them), etc.

Waxworms should be fed more as a treat than a regular diet item. They are pretty high in fat. Otherwise use farm raised bugs (no wild they carry parasites and could have pesticides, herbicides, etc on them).

DO NOT FEED A HEDGIE SUPERWORMS AND BE SURE YOUR LARGE MEALWORMS ARE TRUELY MEALWORMS!
My previous hedgie ate a superworm my roomie thought was a mealworm.
The next day he quit eating, then we noticed he was bleeding from his mouth and within 3 days he was dead.
I have been told if you cut the superworms head off you can feed the body to the hedgie, but I would stay far far away from them.

Good, non harmful worms I have found are mealworms, waxworms, silkworms, and phoenix worms. I have been told they can eat tomato worms, but havent tried them.
