Wire cages

My dad is finally fulfilling he's promise to build me a chin cage :] But he's a real cheapskate, and he found some wire that is a lot cheaper than the wire from our other feed store, but it is 1 inch by 1 inch, and we didn't know if that is too far apart. Is it? I know it's not baby safe but I didn't know about adults.

1"x1" is okay as long as it isn't poultry wire. It's fine for adults, but the babies would just slip right on through.
