Lately, Kiwi has been poking her nose through the bars at the corner of her cage and letting me scritch her whole head. It is sooo cute, her head is right between my fingers and I rub from behind her ears, on top of her head, and on both sides of her cheeks at once. I think she's been watching the cat and getting ideas because that's how he likes to get his head rubbed too. I could stand there for hours and rub her down, she looks so blissfully happy

chi chi likes to be scrached like that too. Ill move all down her back to her butt and back to her head. She likes her whole body scrached. lol

Lucky you! Mine lets me rub head, belly, back, tail, etc. Relish the moments! It's completely calming and I so love that skritchy face they make. Pure bliss.

im trying to teach my new girl the joy of scritches, but she's having none of it. She's a bouncy little thing, don't think she wants to sit still for that long!

Shell loves a good scritch. Shelly will let me give her full body scritches and massages.

So...a trick for those reluctant to scritches: start small and give them a one-finger little scritch in the middle of the day, while they are very sleepy. This has worked for me.

Over time (weeks, months, years?) you can build up to the full scritch where they will lift their little paws and twist so you can get the bellies. One of my boys didn't like scritches until I persisted during his sleepy time. Now he does. I think they're a little off-guard/ more relaxed when they're groggy.

Just an idea.

thanks Pleiades! I think starrkey is a special one at 6 months he was a full twister for scritches! I'll start tempting ma girly, she needs the elvis lip for sure!
