Who should replace Simon on Idol?

I'm pretty much thinking I'm not watching the show once Simon leaves--however I also think the show needs to do right by itself and get someone who knows something about a singing career (not Ellen!)

My choices:
Richard Marx

Cher ( I would SO still watch if Cher was on)

Gene Simons (maybe even his son Nick!)

Thoughts anyone?

Yeah, once Simon is gone, I'm not interested anymore. I didn't even like Paula, but she was a key part of the show. She and Simon played off of each other. So with her AND Simon gone, I don't even care.

I think the show will lose a lot of velocity when Simon leaves. I think Gene Simmons would be a hilarious replacement, but his monotone voice and attitude may not appeal to a big demographic.
If it doesn't matter that they know anything about music (like Ellen), they could go for someone like John McEnroe.
Hmmm. Maybe Billy Idol? LOL!
Really, I think they should just go back to 3 judges. Four seemed to be too many to me. I'm not expecting to like Ellen, Randy says the same 3 phrases over and over, and Kara is disturbingly annoying. When Simon does come back with "The X Factor" in 2011, I think people will watch that and leave Idol in the dust.

Simon's leaving? With the exception of Adam, I haven't watched in years, and I don't intend to, but I really can't see the show lasting more than a season after Cowell leaves.

OMG Carol! You and Bob Dylan kill me! Actually I like Laura called it---John McEnroe. He's probably meaner than Simon and he does know something about singing! His wife was in a band in the 80's!
