Which is better?

Ok im thinking about getting some ryerson chinchilla supplement and lifeline but im wondering how i should use it, should i give 1/2 tsp of ryerson every morning then give a sprinkle of life line on the weekly treat or should i sprinkle life line on the food once or twice a week? Any ideas are welcome im just trying to get the best way to do it.

Life Line is more of an actual dietary supplement. The Ryerson's supplement seems to be more of a treat type thing.

Lately I've only been using Life Line for chins that have been sick, rescue chins, mama chins, nursing chins, etc. The healthy chins haven't needed it so I haven't given it to them. I'd say that once a week for a healthy chinchilla would be a good use of Life Line, but I'd probably use it in place of a treat.

The problem with any supplement is that it will take up valuable space in the chin's tummy! They need to be eating their pellets and hay, everything else should be given in very strict moderation....one treat a day.

That would work. You could substitute the Life Line for the Ryerson supplement once a week...and just feed that as the treat.

I just wanted to say thanks for that link. Although I do give lifeline a few times a week, I didn't know it was safe just to sprinkle acidolphilos on their food, so thank you.

LOL yeah I was the person asking about the acidophilus in the other post because I'm young and I can't afford to buy lifeline all the time and acidophilus is inexpensive and perfect!

3oz of lifeline can last 1 chinchilla years depending on how often you givew it and it is only $15, but feeding lifeline as a treat? Do i sprinkle it on anything or just give it from my hand?

years? what about if I gve it once a week? How long would it last for one chinchilla? Maybe it is a good deal LOL

Ok there are 12 tsp in an ounce so for one ounce you have 48 servings of 1/4 ounce or if you give less you have 96 servings of 1/8 ounce, 96 x 3 = 288 so if once a week that is 288 weeks divided by 52 so about 5 and a half years, depending if it goes bad but to my house 3 oz is 19.80 shipping included so its not that bad
