Seems like in chat we're always talking about pizza or chinese food! yum to both by the way. So I thought hey what does everyone like?

My favorite International food by far is Chinese! My favorite dish is more like an obsession--pork and chive steamed dumplings! I know it's known as an appetizer but I don't care I LOVE them!

How bout you?

ok, i know it's only a candy, but flakes chocolate from ireland.

and why are you never in chat when i am?

Indian buttered chicken with basmanti rice and a nan bread. Or their curried beef on a bed of rice and the nan bread.
boy I miss that stuff.

Japanese Vegatable Tempura (Lightly battered and fried). Especially the onion rings and sweet potatoes. The tempura batter is lighter than the crap we use for american food. Great thing to order if you are at a sushi place and don't feel like or want sushi. Along with the miso soup!

As far as candy...I like Lindt chocolate and the middle (but not the chocolate) of the Australian Violet Crumble.

Well Miss Laurie, you already know this. I love Ukrainian kubasaw and perogies, or my Oma's German schnitzel and cucumber salad. Nom!!!!

LOL Sasha! You and I are the only ones I know who LOVE schnitzel and perogies! double NOM!

I'm going to create an Asian Meatloaf this weekend with the ingredients of my dumplings sans the wrappers!

I love good Indian food, chicken tikka masala is one of my faves.

Chinese, kung pao chicken and crispy beef from Mandarin House.

It is the easiest simplest thing to make but i for some reason LOVE Filipino Adobo!

I was going to say the same thing. My mom and has made it for me for years and now that I am married and moved out I make it for my husband as well as when we have company over! It is usually a big hit! How weird...

I also Love crab rangoon. Although now you find it sweeter than it used to be... I miss the unsweetened version...

As for desert... Bakalava all the way!

I am just a fan of food in general...

The one thing that makes me gain lots and lots of weight is stollen. My grandfather was a pastry chef from Germany and he made this for us every single Christmas. We'd get a tiny little sliver because I suppose us kids weren't important enough to waste any of it on at all!

He'd spend days making them. It was so good. I'm not sure why, I am aware that it is just fruit cake.

He's gone now and no one else but me has the motivation to make REAL German stollen. Every year I make it myself and I will spend two or three days making them. There's a special way to do everything and it's all very secret with what is used, so I can't tell you about it. :)

Oh...and schnitzel is wonderful. It reminds me of being a little kid! I haven't had any in years. Strudel of any type...apple strudel is the best... My grandparents really set my food tastes early in life! Although, I HATE sausages. Sauerkraut is one of my favorite things ever, we would eat that constantly. I am trying to find my grandmother's sweet red cabbage recipe, but I don't know if it exists anymore.

Other than that...I love Malaysian food and really good Chinese. :)

My mom makes a great baklava...but not often.....it is a pain in the butt! I can't stand the smell of the melted butter while she makes it though. For some reason it nauseates me. I think it is just soooo rich a smell and I grew up with margarine. Butter was only used for baking (and only when real butter was a must).

Thai curry- with veggies, tofu and jasmine rice! nom, nom.... :)

Pretty much anything Thai...

Thirding Thai. I'm really partial to "Golden Bowl" which is an appetizer most of the time. Fillo dough cups stuffed with minced seasoned chicken and vegetables with a sweet cucumber sauce for dipping.

I'm another fan of pierogi though. Absolutely love them, esp. cheese filled! About 4 of those and a nice slab of Kielbasa just starting to get black around the edges from the grill makes me a Happy Girl!

And for drinks: Authentic middle eastern Chai. I can't have it often b/c the milk does a number on my stomach, but when I do I enjoy the heck out of it!

Chinese but I love a bunch of other asian dishes too!

I Love Kung Pao chicken! I also love tempura ice cream! I haven't had that in years.

Thai "Noodle of the drunk." Thin noodle with chicken, a rich sweet brown sauce, onion, tomato, green pepper and plenty of whole leaf sweet basil. I used to love the Chinese food but it has nothing on Thai. Thai is an explosion of flavor and fresh vegs. Warning to those wanting to try Thai........ get mild or no spice the first visit.( unless you like spicy food ) Thai red chilli paste is not like a Mexican or American variety of pepper. It is scalding but pleasant. It doesn't over power the food but add's to the flavor. And it is added by the chef during the cooking process. If you find yourself too hot, break open a sugar packet and sprinkle plenty over your meal. It cuts the heat.
