With the new software and lots of old members coming back, thought it might be fun to see what everyone has been up to.

Travels? New pets? What's new?

My old hedgehog 'Tater had to be pts some time ago. (Old old age) I have a 2 yo hedgie named Christmas now. (My daughter named him) im not as close to him as he is a biter!

My oldest chin died a few months ago. He was almost 21 :( I still have Buttons and Kenjiro, who are 13 this year. Lots has changed since we got Buttons when he was 6 months old. Got married, have two kids and a hobby farm! Life is good.

Hi! New software looks great. We had large-scale unexpected change of plans so we had to downsize our pet family. We're down to 3 chinchillas, a couple who we just bonded together not too long ago, and our grandpa chin who is 19. All very healthy and happy, so we're having a good time :)

My only chinbaby passed away almost a year ago. I probably won't ever get another. :c
Instead, I've become focused on other aspects of life, like family and career.
I do appreciate the birthday wishes each year though! It's nice to be remembered on my birthday. :)

Hello everyone!
I have 6 chinchillas now! One is a baby boy and is becoming active so we are looking for a sweet and caring home to take him in! :( Rest are females and we plan on keeping them

Hi! We’ve added a second fella, “Wombat” ( pic below). Working on introducing him to “Moon”, (pic left) who is much more mellow. Wombat is a whirling dervish!

I dont think I was ever really active here, but I have three chinchillas now!
A few months ago I had a scare when one of my chinchillas broke his leg. Still no idea how he did it, my best bet is he somehw got it caught in the bars on the side of the cage or maybe in the door? But it was broke inseveral places and he ended up having to get it amputated. So I have a three legged boy now! I was super lucky with how smoothly everything went and he recovered very well very fast! Im working on reintroducing him to my other two chinnies right now, now that hes pretty much done healing.

One of my chins passed last August. My other boy is going through a few health issues now, and I've been bringing him to a specialist to try to figure out what's going on. So far, no one can figure it out. Wish us luck lol

Hello, both my Chins are doing great. Still working on bonding them but we’re trying. Love them so much❤️

I got my new chins Bandit & Buttons a week ago.

I found playing a recording of the contact sound actually helped my boys a lot when first bonding, especially if they ever started barking or anything at eachother, i would play it and they would calm down and look for whoever was making the noise. Also swaping cages between them and toys to get used to eachothers scents.

Cant wait to start getting to know you all. I have SO many questions too!
First time chin owner LOVING this site and your wealth of knowledge!

This is my old man Maury, guessing him roughly 11 years old, asleep in my sock box

I have two chins out of the four I had years ago. Peppy I've had since 2005 and the other since 09.

We’ve got 9 chinchillas now Mason, Ashley, Toby, Pearl, Blossom, Esme, Ivy, Nate and Simba. We plan on getting an angora sometime next year which I’m so excited for. 1570CBE5-A0CA-4171-888C-A4920B58D4E9.jpegSadly we had to rehome our two hedgehogs as my allergies got worse and couldn’t hold them.
Picture is of Simba when he was a baby.

I have two chinnies, Astrid, a standard, whose 5 and Skye, a violet whose 2 next month. I would love an angora but I'm worried adding a third would upset things between my two, who are inseperable. I'd rather have two happy chins than risk ending up with three miserable ones so it's a pipe dream for now.

The site looks great!

Well, my hedgehog passed away a few months back. I dont think I'll get another one for a bit, got 5 chinchillas, had a 6th one but unsure of why or how he passed. But got 5 healthy chinchillas. They arre very active and happy. :) Been busy as life is leading me new paths.

I've haven't had Chinchillas for about 10 years now. I am casually looking to get a couple more again, I miss them so much. The ones I've seen locally are nowhere near the quality I'm looking for and I will probably have to have some shipped to me. But it also seems like all the breeders and pages I use to follow/buy from are gone. So for now, I'll just keep looking.

My Asa Gray, who I got from Sycamore Chins is still doing great at 12 yo. He is busy and sassy, and sometimes very cute and friendly. We have been living in Europe for 4 years now, and he and his sister bunny, Queenie, have adapted pretty well. We actually have an entire room for dustbaths and Out of Cage Time (OCT).
