I am still a new hedgie mom...she is about 3months old.....everything has gone great with Heidi. She loves to be held, will lay flat on my chest & go to sleep, never balls up, does not quill when I wake her or pick her up.
UNTIL THIS MORNING. I have no new smell on me AT ALL. When I picked her up & was holding her she starting making a sound like a motorcycle idling (I thought it might be a purr-but was not). Then she puffed her quills - not really bad - but they were definately showing she was not comfortable. Then she started breathing really fast - kinda sounded like a dog panting. She calmed down when I put her close to my face & cuddled her face (she always likes that) but was still not her normal self. Okay, this might sound wierd - I always put her inside my shirt on my chest & she will go to sleep - she did calm down but once I looked @ her inside my shirt, she puffed up again & started the heavy breathing again.......I thought it was best to put her back in her house.
Isn't she a cutie?
I hold her constantly - she loves it. This is so not normal for her. Any ideas what it could be?:hmm:
Please let me know what all your experienced thoughts might be....I don't like her feeling scared like this,,,,if that's what it is.
