I feel I've been very blessed to have such a wonderful family, but I have to confess Santa has always been good to me!

My favorite Christmas present from Santa was:

My Mod Hair Ken! You could peel off and press moustache, beard and side burns and gone was the plastic helmut head! This Ken had "real" hair!

I got him the same year as my Friendship Barbie Airplane!

Good thing too since Ken was pilot!

I believe I also got my first Elvis Gospel LP from Grandpa and Grandma that year too!

Don't remember how old I was, but it's one of my fondest memories of Christmas!

How about anyone else?

I can remember this gift very vividly and even though I've been very blessed as well, and received quite expensive and beautiful gifts, my fave was a gift from my sister 24 years ago! I was 19 and single and living in Lincoln Park in Chicago. At the time, I could barely afford my rent and never cooked nor owned a pot to boil water in, LOL. It was wrapped in a huge TV box and it was heavy. I remember yelling at her that she better not have bought me a TV, it was too funny. When I opened it, the box was filled with all my favorite snacks, I mean a ton of them. It was heavy because it had 50 individual servings of canned fruit cocktail, and several different kinds of canned nectarine drinks and tons of cookies and chips. Oh my, I remember laughing and crying and being so thankful, I'll never forget it.

My family was blessed only with the Love of each other, we were very poor and my Parents has 8 mouths to feed . I will never forget the one Christmas my Mother Knitted a Doll for me and My Father made a Beautiful Cradle for it, I still have that cradle and will pass it down when the time comes. They always made sure our stocking were filled to the brim with goodies and small gifts. I remember being the smallest and the one to "get away" with anything being asked by my sisters and brother to go get our stockings, it was 4am in the morning, I had to make many trips because the stockings were so full. My Father would make this big production about shaving the old fashion way and my Mother would go down the stairs to "make sure" Santa got everything right. I now know they were just stalling us to make everything under the tree super special.

Two gifts come to mind. The first one was when I was about 5 or so. I got a 'kitchen'. It was made of metal and it was pink and there was a sink and cabinets and a refrigerator. It was about 2 feet tall and you could open all the doors and pretend you had your very own kitchen.

The other gift I was maybe 7. I got a Thumbelina Doll. She had a wind up in the back and her head would move. She had plastic arms and legs but her body was cloth and stuffed. It was the first snuggly baby doll I ever had, the others were all plastic and not so snuggly. I LOVED that doll. She got thrown away when we moved when I was 14 and I wished I still had her. I've looked on ebay about buying another from back in that era but they are either beat to heck or more $$ than I could ever afford to pay for a doll.

The one thing that sticks out in my mind, is this long, red, silky nightgown that came with a matching robe. I loved that thing like the dickens. I first saw it at the store, and my mom told me to ask Santa. I thought for sure there was NO way Santa could get that exact same gown/robe... sure enough, Santa pulled through. I have a picture of me wearing it somewhere... might have to dig it out and relive my childhood. haha!

Santa brought my sister and I a Tonkinese cat (Burmese/Siamese cross) when I was 8. Apparently he dropped him off a bit too early because we discovered him on X-mas eve in my parents bed yowling. His name was Sam and he was the coolest guy! :)
