eww...those are creepy!! I hate worms sooo bad....but at least if you step on one it doesn't crunch :( I was thinking Palmento bug? Not sure...I had a family member that moved from PA to SC and was horrified by those things!

Thats disgusting! I'm doing the freaky bug dance after seeing that thing!

Gross... but I can't say much. When we had our HUGE cicada hatching a few years ago, I ate stir fried cicadas... but at least they were COOKED and no longer wiggling!!!
Perhaps it's just my fear of bugs talking here, but I wikipedia'd cicada and that looks even creepier than the water bug!!
I would have barfed watching you do that! lol. But everyone has their own tastes and culture!

i trap water bugs, cicadas & the hugest grasshoppers in my pool filter every summer! i am SO afraid they are going to hop on me when i empty the basket!! i scream like a little girl!!

Those are creepy and big!

I think the strangest looking bug we get around here are the 10-lined June Beetles. They're harmless though. Haven't seen any this year yet. We also get some pretty freaky looking spiders.

I think the Jerasulam Cricket takes it for being the creepiest up there. Ronda had one on the side of her chin cages and I dropped the chin I was carrying and just about crapped a kitten. It was 2+" long and nasty, and apparently they do bite.

There haven't been many bugs in the south I haven't been able to get a close look at, there was this beetle the other day that was close to the cricket experience though. It was in my hose, I still can not look at the picture for long due to the icky head, but I'll post it here for you. Yes, I took a picture of it hoping some day I'd be able to inspect it better. Some of the critters here are very curious looking like the buck moth caterpillars and Mr. Toebiter.

Sorry, that came up on google image search and I couldn't help myself. :D I'm not sure yet whether I'd be freaked out or facinated by those bugs, I never knew they even existed!

Great.. just great.. when I thought I have seen all the gigantic gross looking bugs that live down here. EWWWWW!! I have lived here 11 years and have not seen one of those yet. Side note.. I did see my first scorpion in my kitchen last month crawl out from under my dishwasher...

Ugh...I have never seen a bug like that but I would have freaked out. Especially since they are 3-4 inches long. Thats a big bug!
