Hello everyone , I was wondering what brand of pellets would you recommed? As far as I have read , a good rabbit pellet is needed to substane a healthy diet - not to mention tim. hay and vitimin drops ( I could be wrong on that , so please correct me ).

Thanks ahead of time !

There are several good actual chin pellets as well as some rabbit pellets. Good brands of pellet include:
Oxbow Chinchilla Deluxe - can be found in some pet stores, and a member on here by the name of Sandi sells it for a good price
Tradition - you can buy this from some breeders, you can also go to their website and see if you have any dealers near you.
Nutrena Naturewise 16% (rabbit pellet) can be found at some feed stores and some members on here sell it.
Purina Rabbit Chow..I forget the full name. Several members here sell it as well.
Manna Pro Sho- another rabbit pellet. Find it in feed stores and some members sell it.
There may be several others I'm forgetting. However, the 3 I most recommend are Oxbow, Tradition, and Nutrena. I have used the first two, and I have heard good things from trusted people about the Nutrena. The only reason I stopped feeding Oxbow was I found a Tradition dealer close to my home.

No vitamin drops. As long as you are feeding a healthy pellet and hay, they do not need any vitamins added to their diet. They should be getting all they need from the pellets.

Mazuri is another type. Some people swear by it. But it is known to cause soft poo/loose stools.

I tried Mazuri and Oxbow with my guys. They ate it after a while, they didn't enjoy it. I feed them Purina Rabbit Show Chow and they take the pellets as treats! They all love it. The best part is that I have been able to put my rabbits and chinchillas on the same feed :)

Purina Rabbit Chow..I forget the full name. Several members here sell it as well.

Purina Rabbit Chow Show (PRCS) is what I feed Chloe and she's done really well on it. When I got her she was on Kaytee, so I switched her to Mazuri but her poos got soft so I switched her again to PRCS and I have no complaints. Some people like it because it doesn't have corn in it also.

In general, a good feed has:
Protein- 16-20%
Fiber- 18-23%
Fat- 2-4%
and other numbers I can't remember at the moment!

I like the guaranteed analysis of Oxbow and PRCS from the ones I've looked at (haven't looked at all of them) and Sandi on here sells Oxbow pretty much the cheapest you'll find.

A good grass hay is key as well, like you said. Vitamin drops aren't needed. They often have other stuff in them that isn't beneficial. Stackie pretty much told you what's what about all this. She's a smartie.

Thanks everyone !

Fab post and thank you ! Good thing you mentioned the vitamin drops - I read from a breeders site here on the island they are needed to promote healthy gums , but i'll take your word for it :)
