what about mom with baby missing...what to do plz

I posted earlier about a 4 day old chin getting lost...we still can't find him or figure out what happened to him...we are so sad about this, but now what do we do about the mom...she was breast feeding him....does her up milk dry up on its own?? :cry3:

Her milk should dry up fine, just like if a kit died while mom was still nursing. Just keep an eye on the nipples and the surrounding area, making sure it doesn't get swollen or hot. If it does, you may be dealing with mastitis and would need to get her seen immediately by a vet for antibiotics.
