My standard, Ozzie, weighs 689 g.

My mosaic, Poppy, weighs 658 g.

My **** eb, Bunny, weighs 710 g.

My pink white, Trixie, weighs 805 g.

All are healthy, active, eating, drinking, chewing, etc. None of them feel bony or thin. But don't Ozzie and Poppy seem a little small? Or is that an average weight for a chinnie and my other two are a little on the bigger side? I must say I got Ozzie and Poppy from a backyard breeder and Bunny and Trixie from breeders who have high quality show animals. Maybe that's why there is such a difference. All are fed Oxbow Chinchilla Deluxe and have hay and water available at all times. Trixie looks HUGE compared to all the others. Just by looking at them romping around their cage, I would have guessed Bunny was the smallest. I guess wearing black really does make you look slimmer.

No, they don't seem small at all. Some chins don't weigh as much and are perfect just the way they are. Weights mean extremely little except in the case where the chins are losing weight and need to be monitored.

Really...all of them are above average. :) Don't worry about their weights...they're all healthy. :)

they sound like good weights to me!
my smallest guy is my little sapphire that i got from jill that she got from Monika (Moon).
he weighs just under 500 and is about 1 year old.

How old are each if you dont mind me askin?

My ebony girl looks alot smaller than my beige but she actually weighs like 50g more. I guess black does make you look thinner, lol!! Too bad it dont work for me, lol!!

Those are about average and above average chin weights. I don't worry too much about weights unless I notice a sudden decrease, change in behavior or eating habits, or a change in poo... Chin weights can have a wide range. Smaller-framed chins tend to be lighter and blocky, large-bodied animals will weigh more. It's pretty much just a matter of genetics... and reaching that genetic potential as long as they are on a good diet (which yours definitely are). Yours are good healthy weights!

I agree, they all sound pretty healthy! One of our boys is around 580 but has plenty of "meat" on him, so as long as they look and feel healthy, I'm sure they're fine! :))
