weaning

I have t:grouphug::grouphug:wo babies that were born on 6/9 when should we start to wean them? I've heard 8 week and 12 weeks.

I was told you can start as early as 7 wks and 200g

Most people say 6 weeks or 200 gm. Some of my kits weigh 200 gm at 5 weeks. That doesn't mean they are ready to be weaned.

I wean at 8 weeks.

I wean at 8 weeks. If they are not 200g, I will leave them as long as 10 weeks.

I wean at 8 weeks unless they do not weigh 200 grams, then I leave them in with mom for up to another 2 weeks. I also keep them here for at least 2 weeks from the time that I separate them from mom, to make sure that they are doing well on their own.

My sons girlfriend read somewhere that 75% of babies die during weaning. Is this true?I don't want to loose these little guys!!!!

I wean at 8 weeks and what your son's gf read is not true.

It just gets too confusing when new folks start posting 100 threads asking the same thing, looking for different answers. You will get the same answers here as you got in your other thread.
