Crysta and I both have been talking about our huge rumps and the fact we want them smaller!

Both of us would like to--no we NEED too--lose weight and get into shape. Starting the beginning of January we are having a Big Butts club. We will offer support to each other, figure out the best plan of attack for whichever way we want to lose weight--low carb, low cal, low fat--whichever, if anyone else would like to join the club please let us know! I would like to set it up so that daily we are offering advice and encouragement to each other. Also each of us could offer recipe ideas, diet strategies and excercise encourgement.

Hopefully by the end of the 2010 our Big Butts club will be reduced to a Little Butts club!

Yay Laurie!

My reasoning to lose weight is this: I want to get pregnant. The doctor's can't figure out why I am not ovulating. They have tested everything. The only thing they can think of is my weight. Plus, as the years go by I gain a little each year. I need support in my journey. My willpower is, well, I have none. I tell myself every single day that it's for my future child, but my willpower still always waivers. I am now with the rest of my family when it comes to health. All within a month I have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and hypertension. I am only 27! I have no one else to blame but myself. It's time for me to get my butt in gear and have other people help me stay on track. Seriously...I need you guys to yell at me. Make me feel bad.

So yes, I am starting a bit earlier than the others in the club (though you can always start with me!). I want nothing more in my life than to be healthy and have a child. Why wait until the beginning of the year. Today is the start to my new life.

Sorry for shouting from the soapbox. More than anything I need to hear myself say it. Also, I am starting a facebook page this evening for this group. I figure most of us have a page, so it makes sense. This way there is something we can all go to to keep each other in check.

Okay Tiffany you're in even with no butt!

I need to lose weight because I'm 46 years old and have been overweight for more than 20 years. We have history of heart disease and diabetes on my father's side and trust me I am my father's daughter.

Carol and I would like very much to walk for the 60 Mile 3 day Susan G Koman Cancer Cure in honor/memory of my beautiful sister Lisa who died in July. Before she died--and oh do I ever hate deathbed promises--Lisa told me I had to lose weight because someone needed to be around for her children since she would not be. So I promised her then and there that I would. I have lost 46 lbs since Lisa died, but I haven't really done anything special to do it.

I have lost weight before--I always gain it back. I have excercised before--I always stop! I had the most success with phen-fen until it was removed (dang it! we still have cigarettes and they kill people!) and low carb. After the holidays I will be doing low carb and following Dr Ian Smith's Fat Smash Diet and also incorporate South Beach Diet with it.

This club will be for any weight loss and excercise program. We will all follow what we want to follow and accept suggestions from others. I would like us to share inspiration, share recipes and just mainly share encouragement to one another.

It's not just about losing weight it's about liking ourselves and I think we all know self image has a lot to do with liking yourself. I think it would be great if we can all learn to love ourselves and much as we love others.

I got a big ole butt oh yeah!

And since we were doing wii fit tonight and my 9 year old called me Fattie!!!! I am in.

My butt & thighs have always been my biggest problems.

Crysta--I am thinking about having another baby and I will be 42 in February. I refuse to gain more weight on top of the 15 - 20 i need to lose. (which i put on after quitting smoking!) so for the 1st 6 months of 2010 I must lose weight!!

Laurie...you won't let me join, will you? :p

You know that I am here for you to offer support if anyone needs it. :) I think that this is a great idea so that you will have support and motivation and very possibly competition in reaching your goals. :)

You've already lost so much, Laurie!! Good Job, girly. :)

Oh count me in.... I have a big O' butt... I use to be so skinny before having my first child... I lost some of the baby weight (only it took me three years) to find out I was pregnant yet again.. Thankfully during that pregnancy I didn't gain any weight. I lost some more weight (in another 3 years) to find out I was pregnant again... I gained A LOT of weight with my last kid... So now I am big again.. and can't seem to get any of it off...

Laurie and Carol, I would love to do the 3 day walk with you if I may... I just need more info on it.

My grandma is a breast cancer survivor so I have my reasons too.

But anyways, this isn't the point of the thread...

I don't have a big butt, but I work out anyways, so maybe I can help out too?

Alli and Susan you can be our skinny inspirations! Crysta is working on setting up a website just for our Big Butt club! As soon as it's set up and I have everyone who's interested in joining I'll get the word out to everyone!

Ok, the new website is set up. Right now it isn't anything amazing to look at, but give me a few days to work on it. :p

Join the site and you can post to the forum. Introduce yourself there!

I'd like to join you all! I'd like to drop 2 pants sizes again.

I had a dr's appt on Tuesday and wasn't happy with the scale. I'd like to lose my butt and a bit in other areas too. I'm the biggest I've ever been. I was this size once before, lost it, now I'm back up again....sigh. I have a weakness for sugar and dairy and the past year they've been putting me in the office more at work so I'm not getting the exercise I used to when I was walking all over the hospital.

I'd like to join. I don't like my tummy. >_< I refuse to keep gaining weight.

I'm in! I definitely could use some major butt reduction. I have zero willpower and a hubby who LOVES to eat, but never gains an ounce! Maybe this will help me stay on track.

Thanks! This is a great idea!

ooooooo, I'm sooooo in! Although, I fall under the "big guts" category...but I could definitely use some good influences/motivators in my life. Going to sign up now!

Take a look at the website (bigbuttsclub.webs.com). I renamed the group since my butt really isn't all that big either. We are now The Big Butts-n-Guts Club. :D

I already made the website when I decided to change the name, so the web address has to stay, but I think the new name encompasses all of us. :p
