So recently, my little Chester has been finding some interesting ways/spots to crash out. I was wondering if other members here have also found their little ones curled up in odd positions that make you think, "OMG MY CHINCHILLA'S DEAD?!" .... "Oh, nope, just sleeping...?"

I found Chester in this position a few times before; first time I saw him, I freaked out and thought something was wrong. But no, he was just sleeping.

After a couple pictures, he perked up and glanced at me:

Then, here's a picture of him passed out on his little stuffed animal. His little legs were stretched out and he was SO CUTE!

He also passes out on his wheel during the day, lying on his side with his legs stretched out over the side, or just sitting on the wheel and drooping his head down to sleep. Have yet to get a good picture of that one, but here's one that I managed to snap of him.

Yep, your chin is a official member of the weirdo chin club, LOL!

Guido here is a charter member.

I have had a few hundred chins for well over a decade now, so think about multiplying your fright from the strange sleeping positions by about 280 and then you know why I am insane. It was bad enough in the beginning with just one chin, and then a year later four chins...and then three years later (I don't know what happened for sure) 50 to 80 chins.

There is one fat fatty rescue chin, who sleeps completely on his back with his tail in the air. He is responsible for most of the hairs that have come in white over the last 6 months. The first time I saw him in that position, I thought he was dead and I sat on the floor and sobbed...he'd been through so much and he was coming along so nicely with him becoming sweeter by the day. Then he popped up a few minutes later and nothing was wrong. (There have been others that have been equally as scary...that's the most recent time that I can remember being scared to tears.)

Chins are just weird...and they could quite possibly be evil.

Yes he does sleep like this. I find a pile of poop on the floor every morning.

Garrus doesn't understand how ramps work but thinks they make good beds. He constant curls up and lays on the ramp.

He also like belly flopping wherever he gets tired at which made me panic when I first got him.

I wonder sometimes if they just get so tired in the middle of playing that they crash wherever they happen to be at the time. Like a toddler... they sleep in odd positions too! My girls usually just stuff themselves into their wooden house. I think of those Popple pets they had when I was a kid. Little stuffies that came with houses far too small for them. You had to like... stuff them in. That's how my girl's look sometimes. And AZChins you're nicer than I am. If a chin is sleeping in an odd position... I poke them. Until they wake up and prove they are still alive. Usually gets me the stink eye.

Oh my goodness; Cuteness Overload! I hope more members will keep the pictures coming! I Love seeing these goofy Chins!

Holy Smokes! The chin sleeping in the flying saucer is so darned funny!
I would think my chin to be dead if I came upon that.....

This little guy sleeps like this in his run. Just take a look at him. Adorable. Innocent cherub. Looking soft and adorable......
THINK AGAIN.....little #$% bites me when he doesn't want to be moved. Nothing serious. Freaks me out though. I curl my hand in a ball and push him backwards when he's in that mood. I'm the boss here!!! :D

I took this the other day. He was sleeping but I woke him up while trying to get a picture.

My oldest male does that all the time. He stands on one wooden ledge while his paws and upper body are supported on the next ledge above him. He will stand like all the time. Especially when hes starting to wake up in the evening.
