So, my chin has been having a problem with watery eyes that have been matting down the fur around them. He doesn't seem irritated by it at all and they aren't gunky or anything, just watering down the fur. I have changed his dust and bedding multiple times to new types in case it was an allergy of some sort and I have also eliminated treats for the most part. Nothing seems to be getting rid of the watery eyes! Does anyone have any other suggestions or some bedding and dusts to recommend that may help?

How is his food intake? Has he been to the vet?

Watery eyes can be an indication of eye infection (although the eyes normally will have a discharge and appear irritated) or dental problems, particularly elongation of the roots. A chin with root elongation often has watery eyes because the roots of the teeth extend into the eye socket, putting pressure on the eye and causing it to water. Root elongation can only be determined with an X-ray.

He seems to be eating pretty well. I have not taken him to the vet about it yet though, but it looks like I just might have to. I don't think he has an eye infection, like I said, his eyes don't appear to be irritated or have a discharge at all, but you never know I guess. Thank you for the suggestion about the teeth being elongated. I didn't know that could be a cause of watery eyes.

He's 1 year and 2 months old. I got him from a breeder.
