Water for chins?

Is it OK to give chins boiled water (after cooled down of course?) just wondering as here in Malaysia we always boil water before drinking - is this OK to give to chinchilla?

I do this for my chinchillas because it's cheaper then buying filtered water at a grocery store or whatnot. It only gets rid of any bacteria that's in the water, can't hurt.

actually it can hurt. Boiling does get rid of most bacteria but if there are some harmful chemicals boiling the water makes it worse

Better boiled than strait where you are. However boiling too long can concentrate certain minerals that are bad as well.
