We got our little one at 6 months and I love watching her grow up
Over the last two months she's
- Changed color a little bit. Got some new markings around her neck and her little behind.
- Started looking more like a chinchilla and less generally rodent-ish.
- Started being more adventurous. She's more inclined to explore us and our faces (especially the faces.)
- It's getting easier to pick her up and hold her.
- We're learning that she plays really hard and we have to keep an eye on her!
- We're learning to see the signs of when to bother her and when not to.
- She's taking scritches!
- She's learned where the treat bags/boxes are. So when I go to get her hay out she runs down and stares at me.
- She's started the odd sleeping positions that are really scary. And funny ones, like pressing herself into a corner of her cage standing up. Very odd.
- She hears the sound of the lid coming of her stick jar and runs down to get one.
- She'll readily jump into my lap to get sticks (potentially dangerous! She's a quick one!)
- She knows what her dust looks like, more running.
- She's more used to our routine but she hates me for getting home from work at 5:30-6:00. She starts getting very active around 8:00.
- She's re-arranging her cage and peeing in her dish. The cuddle buddy most definitely does not belong in her big house. And wood most definitely does not belong on the top shelf.
- We're learning her personality is less cuddly and more precocious. She wants to know what everything is and test it out! She also wants what she wants when she wants it and no other time!
- She's learned fleece does not taste good and leaves it alone.
- She thinks her carrier is a good thing. It means play time!
What changes have you seen in your babies as they grow up?
