every now and then, and today i've noticed that gizmos ears have been hot. The room is around 60 degrees and he was sleeping each time. its when I wake him up. They are not all that pink but are hot. But his body and fur feel cold. What is going on with him? Is this normal to happen now and then without him over heating?

My chins get that as well while they are sleeping. The usually fold their ears to their body, hence the heat.

I think you may be right. Everytime I wake him up his ears are plastered to the side of his head. So that would make both of them warm right being so close to their heads?

not sure of gizmo's coloring, but on my mosaic it is very noticable. he is a total tube hog and is alway laying in there in the strangest positions. when he comes out his ear is bent and warm and red.......but he is adorable!

Gizmo is a standard. I've heard that about the mosaics, but they are just too cute!

Totally normal LOL! Leonard is the king of hot pink ears while sleeping here. And he doesn't even lay them flat against his head or lay on them. He just gets hot pink ears while snoozing!

My boy Fatty is a little strange with the hot ears. After playtime (during which, his ears stay cool and normal colored) when he settles down, his ears turn bright red and get really warm. Its like he stores up all of the heat from playing and then lets it out when playtimes over......
he also seems to do that with poo, only opposite.

IMO as long as the ears or not red. They are fine! Nothing to worry about i guess.

You ever been at a sleepover or heard someone complain that whomever they were sharing a bunk with "turned into a furnace" at night?

Same thing happens with most mammals when they sleep. It's perfectly normal. :))
