I am just throwing this out here to see what all the other breeders have to say. Have any of you seen any vitamin defiencies in your breeding animals-particularly kits born.

My question arose for the simple fact that I am pregnant and I just found out I am very deficient in vitamin d because I don't get out in the sun enough and I am not getting enough through food and vitamins. (because of this my baby could be born with autoimmune and thyroid disorders) I was just wondering if that could happen to our animals. Mine are all kept in the basement with full spectrum lighting and a very good diet. Would they still be at risk than if I was to have them upstairs with alot of natural light coming through?

Food for thought

There's a thread I just read about exactly that, and the ratio of males/females born.
Vitamin deficiency didn't register, just more males without light did.
Maybe use "lighting" in the search box will bring it up for you!
