Violet or Sapphire?

I'm not one to really know the difference between the two..
He is still young (less than a year)
I really would like to know what he is considered!

Violet.

Violets are more of a dove grey with grey ears. Sapphires are more of a slate grey with pink ears.

I'm in agreement of violet.

I've got some comparison pictures here. They're older and the color is a bit off, but you can see the difference in how pale the sapphires are. None of the sapphires I've seen have pink ears, sometimes they have half and half, most of the time they're grey.

That is a collar. You put it on the female so that the female can not get in the run. The run is where the male gets access to all the females cages. Often times the females will kill each other if they introduce themselves to another female.
