Those are very special herbs and nutrition ! This man, Dr Schulze, has saved lives and cured people that other docs have said there's no hope! It's really miraculous what he does, and totally worth the money! How much would you pay to save your life?

While I am not doubting they are very special herbs and nutrition, I highly doubt it costs anywhere near that much to make it, that's all I'm saying.

Yeah, I gotta go with you on that one. If it's really so great and he's so focused on helping people, he could at least go with no more than 25% profit, people live off less (I know I could!) I just really don't think it should cost that much, especially if someone with very little money is sick and needs it. But then again I really don't trust much of anything.

I know that the Hallelujah diet is based off of mostly raw foods. My dad pretty much follows this diet because of his heart and his diabetes. They have a bunch of cookbooks that might be worth looking at. I believe there are a lot of recipes also with a google search.

My dad doesn't juice, but he blends, that way the fiber and other nutrients stay in the foods. It provides some variety. So I would also suggest looking at blended recipes and juicing recipes and then modifying them as needed/wanted.

A lot of google searches turn up one or 2 recipes per site, which can get pretty time consuming. So my hope was that people might know of specific websites with a least a decent amount of recipes.

Sorry for the double post, It took me longer than 10 minutes to type this up.

Jan-- His 30 day "detox" is a transition period from his current diet to eating a totally raw diet. After the 30 days this is what he CAN eat:

Organic, Fresh Veggies
broccoli
asparagus
beets
cabbage
carrots
cauliflower
bell peppers
kale
parsley
turnips
sprouted grains
beans
garlic
onion
celery
cucumbers
eggplant
green beans
peas
spinach
mustard greens
collard greens
lettuce
okra
green onion
radishes
swiss chard
watercress
nori
wakame
niziki

Veggies in moderation
green squash
yellow squash
legumes
mushrooms

Misc
whole almonds
macadamias
walnuts
soy sprouts
unprocessed goat milk
unsweetened lemon/lime
avocados
natural sea salt
wheatgrass
barleygrass

I don't think those pills are going to get his body ready to eat this diet.

Will he be allowed to steam any of the veggies?

No. Raw means never heated above 80 degrees.

Bekks, I wish you all the luck in the world. Melanoma is a hateful, insidious disease. It pretends to go into remission, all the while lurking and waiting to strike again. We lost a dear friend to Melanoma about 6 years ago. She was in remission when it killed her.

I was asking because there seems to be a lot of variation. Some sites allow up to 116 degrees. Others also allow some forms of processed foods. It's kind of like the label of vegetarian - lots of variations and interpretations.

There should be some interesting recipes here. I believe this is the blender that my parents have. It came with an awesome cookbook. I don't know how much of the cookbook would be useful for you since it's in VT and I am in ME.

Thanks, I'm frustrated as it is, they thought they got everything with the first 2 surgeries. We still have to wait to find out if these 2 new places are even melanoma, but I'm sure they are. We're going to do everything we can to keep him here as long as we can. This is just step 1 of 2 in the new plan.

Bekks I don't know if this will help or not, but I figured I'd share anyway- my friend is taking a nutrition class and just learned that 99% of the time 0 cholesterol foods are vegan friendly.

I think thats because most cholesterol comes from animal sources (though there are a few plant sources), so most vegan food would be low cholesterol by default.

Yep that's exactly it, although she said that sometimes there are small amounts of dairy products in them, but doesn't add to the cholesterol.

How is the diet coming along? Is he completely Raw yet? I thought of you guys when I saw a Raw food event at Whole Foods yesterday.

It's been going pretty well. He says the only thing that he misses really is coffee. He is "completely" raw now, he's talked with a dietitian with the hospital that's doing all his surgery/treatments and she suggested a few things that were not is the original raw diet that he found. I think it's good because it gives him more options. I think more or less the goal of the whole diet thing is to loose weight and not ingest large amounts of cancer "feeding" foods. He's lost 13lbs so far with the diet and exercise. :dance3:

May I ask what foods typically "feed cancer?" I guess anything processed, but why?

That's cool he has lost 13 lbs. already! I hate that he is having to do it because of the cancer, but maybe this will be the answer he has been looking for. I'm sure he probably had a rough time in the beginning, but he probably feels a lot better not eating all the preservatives and additives that are in so many processed foods. It is amazing when you actually look at what we ingest every day.

Foods with sugars in them? I dunno, I haven't really read all the stuff that he has and I haven't been able to go to the doctor with him in the last 3 months.
