Ups and Downs of Breeding Chinchillas

Here is the Standard foster Mom and the miracle Blue Diamond baby. They are both doing great! It was a real bummer losing the stillborn Standard female kit but, such a blessing saving the Blue Diamond male baby. I have never had a baby revive that was completely lifeless for as long as this guy was. It still completely amazes me that both him and his foster Mom are doing so well after the ordeals they went through. It is so rewarding to actually have a successful story once in awhile with the chins when so often it ends up heartbreakingly bad.

OMG, Mark!!! What a wonderful, heartwarming, happy ending story!!! THANKS so much for sharing it!!! Even though I'm not a rancher, I would have had no idea that a cold, nearly/really dead kit could be revived!!!

I'm sorry for your standard kit loss, but happy for its mother and the little miracle BD!!!
