Was courious if anyone else had twin chins (not nessacerly by birth). I have a feelin im going to have diffaculty telling some of mine apart when they grow up lol.

I have a mommy and daddy pair, with three kits. One male, and two female. Males living together, females liveing together. (seperated by gender)
The mommy and one daughter are standard grey, and the father, son, and one daughter are beige.

My male father Chico

And his son Houdini

Houdinis still growin a little. He was born in october of 2010. And as he grows up he look more and more liek chico every day. The one and only tell tale visual diffrence is their ears. Chico has spots on his ears, where as houdini does not. And the daughter is a 100% look a like to houdini. I have a feeling when their both grown up they will look very alike. Fourtionitly their in two seperate cages lol.

The two i think will be a bigger challange is the mommy chin Sophie, and her look a like daughter, Sophia

Youll see mommy on the right their, and the kit on the left. Had recently put the air conditioner in for them, so their both at the edge of the cage trying to cathc some of that breeze :p.

The lighting in this place is off, but the have the same color and pattern completly as well. However their ears are the same to. So i think they will be near twins when she gets older to lol. (fyi, female kits born feb 2011)

CUTE!!! I love Sophie sleeping in/on the wheel!!! :hearts:

If that's one of those "Snackin' Shack" logs from the petstore, I would get rid of it -- it is full of sugar and who knows what else and is not good for chinnies, especially the babies who are just getting started in life.

I have the same problem with our mama and her baby. When I bought them the baby was 2 months old, now she is almost as big as the mama and very hard to tell who is who.

I have been wondering how people tell them apart myself.

Sometimes I have to mark the back of the ears with a Sharpie so that I can tell who is who. Sometimes I get really confused. What I try to do now is make sure that when I have a cage of all girls or all boys is that I put in chins of different colors that I can tell apart easily. Still, Sharpies work well especially with standards that look exactly alike!

Yep, I have twin extra dark ebony girls. They are nearly impossible to tell apart physically...and I can't sharpie an ear because their ears are black :p. Arwen weighs a bit more than Esper and she kacks at me whenever I get my hands near her, so that's pretty much how I know the difference between them. You can see pics of them under my various threads as well as in my avatar...they look different in some photos but in person they are carbon copies of each other. By the way, your chins are adorable :)

they are DELISH.

Are you planning on eating them? I hear they go great on granite. :tease:

GOG, I have two standards that I used to think looked exactly alike when I first got them. The only way to tell them apart was their jump. Now, I look at them and know who each is right away (they have a slightly different nose). I'll try to get a pic of them later to show.

I have a daughter that looks almost identical to her father... the importance of this is they are both marked whites. This is a younger pic of her and she's now faded to the same color he dad was. She has just a touch less white on her back, and full grow is like twice the size of her dad ( it's those "big hips" lol )

When I wean kits together, say if I wean two std female from the same mom, numbers aren't too important as it's the same ped. But if they are from different mom's I will trim the end of one's tail. I've tried the sharpie but it always seems to wear off really fast.

Same for trio, those two dark ones are very alike lol. I love the how their sandwitching the lighter one in that pic lol.

Fourtionitly, the kit and mom are starting to develop a bit of diffrent personalities. When the kits not being skiddish as ****, shell actuly let me pet her ocasionaly. Where as momma never wants to be touched. (guess after three kids, who can blame her)

now that i have one, heres one of the daughter amana
