Had Trixie out last evening....and had the window open. Trixie was totally fascinated by all the sounds and scents coming from outside. She spent most of her play time sitting on the windowsill just staring outside. Well...except for when the neighbor started their car, and scared her....and oh yes..the barking dog.....and the kids walking by...

Well she sort of liked sitting at the window. Just wish I could put her cage by one, but the daytime sun would make it far to warm for her. Oh well.

How cute. At my old place my boy Pip used to sit by the sliding glass door and stare outside for ages. I think he also liked to sit there b/c there was a floor vent that would blow cool air on his butt. In the chin room here, there is a ledge that goes all around the room and it's just below the window and the boys like to sit there and look out and if the window is open (screen on) they seem to enjoy sniffing the air.

The window totally enraptures Trixie..and I am sure it is partly the cool air when the window is open. There is not much for her to "see" as it is really dark outside the window. But she loves it.

My oldest boy Liv loves the window too. He figured it out a few months ago but I get too nervous since the screens on my windows are terribly old and he could probably push them open with his fat butt  So instead, sometimes i'll hold him by the window when cool air is coming in and he seems to love that just as much!

Jack is the same way. Even with the glass closed, he loves to sit up on the sill while I work (or surf the net ;)).) I wish I could let him sit with just the screen, but it gives me heart attacks.

Haha, my chinchilla, Izzie, hasn't had access to the window yet, but she LOVES to hop inside the fridge. I just walk towards it and she follows me, then sneakily hops inside the fridge door when I open it. She sits and basks in the cool air for as long as I let here. I think she would live in there if she could!

You need to take some pics of Trixie enjoying her window! I dug out the pic of Pip sitting on the floor vent cooling his behind while checking out the scenery.

I will take some of her at the open window next time I have her out..probably tomorrow. Tonight we are taking the night off. Cute one of Pip

^^ Yes, they can chew through a window screen in no time that is for sure. I should have clarified that when the chins are out in the window sill the screen is on and the window is only open a crack so they can sniff the air. I'd never trust just a screen with these chew monsters.
