I just splurged at the health food store!!

I got:
200g dried organic rosehip tea (no real tea in there, just pieces of crushed rosehip!)
50g organic dried hibiscus
50g dried marshmallow root tea (again no real tea heheh)
100g dried organic dandelion root
and 250g organic whole rolled oats!

oh and I got 50g of organic licorice sticks, cause a breeder once told me a small piece was good for constipation.....can anyone here confirm that for me? If it's no good then I'll just chuck it out lol.

And don't worry, I'll be feeding the above goodies only sparingly, and never all at once!!

Some people here recommend a little 1/2-1" piece of liquorice root for chins with constipation. It's healthier than a raisin, less sugar, and provides good chewing material.
Personally I have never used it with my chins so cannot comment - I believe some chins love it and some hate it.

Licorice can be used to relieve constipation.
I bought some for my chins a while ago, they did not like it.

The marshmallow root tea sounds divine! I'm glad you were able to find a health food store near you Amanda!
Those are some lucky girlies for sure!!!

I just received my online order of organic herbs for my boys this weekend, and i got much of the same stuff!
Here is my list:
Lycii (Goji) Berries, Nettle Leaf, Rosehips, Rosehips powder (to mix in with pellets for hand fed chin), Raspberry Leaf, Hibiscus Flower & Dandelion Leaf.

I have Marshmallow Root extract that I purchased for myself for stomach issues, is that the only benefit??

i figured on giving them a pinch of one every night, except the goji berries. they are kinda big so i may cut them in half and give half a couple times a week.

Anyone else use herbs for preventative or treats? Any other recommendations??

Hi,
I feed all my chins a oat and herbal supplement every 3 days. Also along with other supplements and herbs.

I just give a small amount of one treat on its own, 1-2 times a week.
Im not sure if mixing is a good idea, it might upset a chins tummy?

Ive always thought supplements such as herbs and things were to be used infrequently....pellets and hay are all the chin really needs, unless it has a particular problem or dietary requirement. I guess everyone has their own opinion on that.....
