What will I do with my chins when I go on vacation? I only go 1-2 times a year. I have someone in mind to take care of them, but what about them running around? I will buy a playpen but i'd rather have one that attaches to the cage because I don't want them getting out while Im not home. Are there any that attach to a Feisty Ferret cage, or anyone i could attach one so their sitter doesn't have to put them in physically. HELP?!?!?!?

How long do you leave for? You can always just have the sitter skip the playtimes. Probably better to be safer than sorry. I don't really know about playpens since I don't own one and when I did it was just cardboard boxes zip tied together. When I leave for a weekend or something, I don't bother asking anyone to take Chloe out. I don't even take her out every single day as it is anyhow (she has a nice big cage and a wheel and me to entertain her when I would rather not take her out on some days). Maybe if you had the cage inside the play pen so that the sitter wouldn't need to bring them to the pen and risk them jumping out of their hands or whatever...?

Hopefully someone else can chime in on playpens.

I would just skip the playtime. It won't kill her to be looked up for a few days/week.

Whenever I go on vacation I have my mom take care of the chins. I trust her 100% and she knows at least the basics, and has on hand enough phone numbers to call if needed... I trust very few people with my herd. Mom, one of my sisters, and my fiance being it....

I'm with everyone else. Chins don't need playtime while you're gone. Just make sure you've got someone who is well versed in your chin's care to feed/water/watch for signs of an emergency.

I know this is repetitive, but if you're like me then hearing it a few times helps cement the idea. One of my kids has a rat (The other one has a chin). The one the rat, relied on a friend to give playtime in a maze my daughter had built. The rat got out and not only was it hard not to blame the sitter, but it was just hard emotionally. We found the rat believe it or not, but the scare was serious. Skip the play time.

i am the only one who allows my chins playtime. i do not trust anyone in my family to be able to handle emergency situations. the exception is if a breeder or very experienced chin owner that i know is chin sitting.

When I chin sit......i let the chins out for playtime. I recommend the owner brings a playpen but if not i take them out in my bathroom and then disinfect for my own chins.

if you are that concerned about exercise, but them a wheel.
